Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has praised the efforts and achievementsthe police force has made since its establishment in 1945.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of the force onAugust 17, PM Dung stressed that the Party and State always highly valuethe police’s feat of arms, contributions and sacrifice to the country’srevolutionary cause.
All the force’s staff have displayedtheir firm political spirit and faithfulness to the Party, State, thecountry and people, he said.
The police force haspractised to improve their virtue and revolutionary morality, workedclosely with the people’s army and other branches and fulfilled theirduties for national security and order, the PM added.
In acontext where the world is getting more complicated with hiddencontingencies, police force duties become harder. Therefore, they shoulduphold their key role and mobilise the strength of the whole politicalsystem and people to join the fight against crime and maintain securityand order, the PM said.
He also called on people to continueto uphold patriotic tradition, heighten revolutionary vigilance andpositively engage in ensuring national security.
In his speech, Minister of Public Security Le Hong Anh reviewed theachievements the police force has made during the past 65 years.
During the country’s 20-year renewal process, nearly 200 policesacrificed their lives in the fight against crime for national securityand order, he said./.
