Poland hopes to expand investment and cooperation with Vietnam through various forms, especially the provision of preferential export credits.
This statement was made by Polish Deputy Economic Minister Rafael Baniak at the annual meeting between Vietnamese and Polish businesses held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Polish Embassy in Hanoi on Sept. 23.
Vietnamese businesses who purchase industrial machinery, pharmaceutical products and services from Poland will receive the export credit support through Vietnamese banks, Rafael Baniak said.
Gospodarstwa Krajowego Bank of the Polish Government has signed an agreement with Sacombank of Vietnam to provide this service, he added.
According to Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh Poland has pledged a total investment capital of 99 million USD into Vietnam with 44 million USD disbursed.
In 2010, two-way trade reached 620 million USD, of which Vietnamese exports see an average year-on-year increase of 20 percent, Vinh said.
The forum attracted the participation of more than 30 Polish businesses operating in areas including food, machinery, mineral exploitation, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products./.
