He affirmed that Vietnam treasures and wishes to strengthen cooperation with Canada, and is willing to work with Canada in tightening relations.

The President suggested both sides carry out measures to realise agreements reached during Canadian Foreign Minister Stephane Dion’s visit to Vietnam.

The two countries’ leaders believe that Vietnam and Canada can intensify bilateral ties for the interests of the two peoples and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

Vietnam is willing to support Canada in intensifying ASEAN-Canada relations, he added.

The Vietnamese State leader also expressed his hope that in any position, the diplomat will continue his contributions to the relationship between Canada and Vietnam.

The ambassador pledged to continue contributing to developing bilateral relations.

He shared with his host that a video on quan ho (love duet) singing in the northern province of Bac Ninh, made by the Canadian Embassy, will be introduced to Canadian people to help them understand more about Vietnam’s culture.-VNA
