DaNang (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang and his spouse chaired arehearsal of activities of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central city of Da Nang on October 29. 

Scenariosfor activities of the President and his spouse, including the APEC EconomicLeaders’ Meeting, the APEC Business Summit, the dialogue between APEC economicleaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council, an official welcome ceremonyand banquet, and international press conferences were rehearsed at scheduledvenues.

Theyalso inspected venues for bilateral high-level meetings and activities forspouses of APEC leaders.

Hotels,convention centres, international press centre, and other major venues have sofar been ready for the event.

Ata meeting following the rehearsal, the State leader lauded the APEC 2017National Committee, sub-committees, authorities of Da Nang city and Quang Namprovince, ministries, agencies, localities and businesses for activelypreparing for the APEC Vietnam Year 2017, especially the APEC Economic Leaders’Meeting, scheduled for November 6-11.

Hesaid all APEC leaders affirmed their upcoming presence at the APEC Economic Leaders’Meeting, which reflects Vietnam’s prestige and member economies’ trust in thesuccess of the event.

Dueto complicated security developments in the region and the world, particularly SoutheastAsia, he asked for ensuring the most absolute safety to guests.

Heasked the Foreign Ministry to partner with units concerned, especially inhotels, to ensure the best services to guest leaders.

ThePublic Security-Health Care Sub-Committee and agencies concerned were requiredto complete plans for the event with back-up measures for contingency cases.

Thereception, materials and logistics sub-committees, and the APEC 2017 NationalSecretariat must complete and update scenarios to the detail.

TheAPEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 with major events in Da Nang city and QuangNam province is an external focus of Vietnam between now and 2020.

Vietnamis expected to welcome around 10,000 delegates, including leaders of 21 APECmember economies, over 2,000 leading corporate executives and nearly 3,000reporters in the region and the world.-VNA
