President Truong Tan Sang on November 14 received newly-appointed Ambassadors of Tanzania, Kirgyzstan, Serbia, Botswana, San Marino, Ecuador, Bahrain and Colombia who came to present their credentials.
At a reception for Tanzanian Ambassador Philip Sangka Marno, Sang affirmed that Vietnam is willing to serve as a bridge for Tanzania to penetrate the ASEAN market.
The ambassador said that the Tanzanian President plans to visit Vietnam in the near future, adding that the high-ranking visits show Tanzania ’s due attention to Vietnam . He also confirmed that Tanzania is willing to bring the two countries’ relations to a new height.
Meeting with the Kirgyz Ambassador Duishonkul Chotonov, Sang said their time-honoured friendship acts as a solid foundation to continue raising bilateral ties.
Vietnam places importance on traditional friendship, including with Kirgyzstan, Sang said.
Receiving Serbian Ambassador Jovan Jovanovic, Sang told him of Vietnam’s willingness to cooperate with Serbia in boosting bilateral trade.
Jovanovic said Serbia is ready to further promote cooperation with Vietnam in policymaking and parliament. He vowed to support Vietnam ’s bid for membership of the UN agencies.
While meeting with the Ambassador of Botswana Sasara Chasala George, Sang said Vietnam stands ready to share experiences in agriculture, health care and information technology with the African country.
Speaking highly of Vietnam’s breakthroughs in reducing poverty, agriculture, food production and social welfare, the diplomat said he hopes Vietnam will share its knowledge with Botswana in these fields.
Greeting the Ambassador of San Marino Masisino Ferdinandi, Sang expressed his belief that through San Marino , more Vietnamese goods will access the European markets. He also said Vietnam is ready to promote cooperation with the European country.
Ferdinandi agreed that the two countries need to speed up the completion of a framework agreement to facilitate bilateral cooperation. He added that San Marino supports Vietnam’s efforts to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-21 tenure.
At a meeting with the Ambassador of Ecuador Lurdep P. Puma, the President said along with increased ties in politics, diplomacy, culture and society, expansion of bilateral trade cooperation is a field of priority.
The Ecuadorian diplomat spoke of her President’s visit to Vietnam next year, and that the Ecuador State welcomes Sang to their country.
The Ambassador of Bahrain Adel Yousif Sater stressed that the two countries possess cooperation opportunities, especially in labour and employment, as many Vietnamese workers are already employed in the Gulf region.
Welcoming Colombian Ambassador Rodrigo Querubin Londono, Sang affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to relations with Latin American countries, including Colombia .
The President also conveyed his invitation to the Colombian President to visit Vietnam in the future.-VNA
