President Truong Tan Sang on September 12 received Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.
The Vietnamese leader spoke highly of the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries, especially at a time when they celebrate the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
President Sang said he believes that on the basis of the newly-established strategic partnership, bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, education and culture will see further development.
He highly appreciated Singapore ’s stance on the East Sea issue.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that both countries have many joint investment projects that truly reflect their diplomatic ties, stressing that there are many opportunities and fields in which they can learn from each other.
He said he hopes the two sides will continue increasing delegation exchanges and promote foreign affairs in the time ahead.-VNA
