President Truong Tan Sang on December 28 met air force and air defence veterans to mark the 40th anniversary of the Ha Noi-Dien Bien Phu air victory.
The President and delegates recalled the glorious history of the armed forces and the victory.
He said that victory was a historical landmark in the national history which directly led to the signing of the Paris Accord in 1973.
He praised the brave fighting spirit of the army and its service men and women, as well as the valuable support provided by international friends.
Sang stressed that after 40 years, the victory will be remembered forever as the pride of the nation, offering lessons and inspiration for future generations.-VNA
