President meets outstanding cultural families’ delegates

President Truong Tan Sang has stressed that building today’s cultural families needs to promote fine traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families in accordance with the inevitable changes of the society.
President Truong Tan Sang has stressed that building today’s culturalfamilies needs to promote fine traditional cultural values of Vietnamesefamilies in accordance with the inevitable changes of the society.

He made the statement on December 18 at a meetingwith 70 delegates who are in Hanoi to attend a conference to honouroutstanding cultural families.

The President lauded positive activities of cultural families, noting the families are components of the society.

He asked the cultural sector to put forth movements to educate peopleto maintain the country’s good customs and moral foundation.

The delegates said that they hope the Party and State will have amechanism encouraging cultural families to promote their role in thecommunity.

They expressed their belief in theParty and State’s policy of great national unity, affirming that theywill make efforts to reduce poverty and build a cultural life inresidential areas.

According to the Ministry ofCulture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam now has 16.4 million culturalfamilies, and 71,900 villages and residential areas of culturalstandard.-VNA
