The floods, which submerged 70 communes in the region under 2-4m ofwater on November 15 and 16, killed 15 local residents, swept away 130houses, damaged nearly 500 classrooms and 4,000 ha of rice and otherfood crops. Total losses amounted to 1 trillion VND (around 47.6 millionUSD).
