State President Nguyen Minh Triet has expressed his wish for more Czech investors to cooperate with and do business in Vietnam.
The President expressed this aspiration while receiving Karel Pleva, Chairman and CEO of the Czech Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP) in Hanoi on Feb. 4.
President Triet praised EGAP projects in Vietnam and stated that the Vietnamese Government is exerting efforts to improve its investment environment and ensure legal equality for all types of investors.
He stressed that Vietnam and the Czech Republic enjoy fine traditional relations.
In its past struggle for national liberation, Vietnam received support and assistance from the Czech Republic. As a result, in its national construction and development process at present, Vietnam attaches great importance to boosting comprehensive cooperation with the country, focusing on economics, trade and investment.
Moreover, Vietnamese people, who were trained in the Czech Republic , will form a bridge to link and boost cooperation between the two nations. Czech businesspeople to Vietnam are welcomed not only as investors, but also as friends of the Vietnamese people.
The EGAP leader gave a briefing on his company’s key projects in Vietnam which are considered to have the greatest potential effectiveness.
Karel Pleva said that at present Czech investment in Vietnam is still modest, but will serve as a foundation for development of economic cooperation in the future./.
