Hanoi (VNA) – The Party Committee of overseas Vietnameserepresentative offices on January 28 launched the fourth Bua Liem Vang (GoldenHammer and Sickle) Press Awards, calling for entries on Party building.

The competition aims to encourageVietnamese people to get involved in disseminating information and promotingunderstanding about the Party’s policies and Party building work.

The third edition of the competition receivedwarm response from Party organisations in overseas Vietnamese representativeoffices as well as Party members and Vietnamese people living abroad.

The organising board received a total of 52entries, a 6.5-fold increase compared with that of the previous edition. TheParty Committee selected 26 outstanding works to present two A prizes, four Bprizes, eight C prizes and 12 consolation prizes, and sent eight of them to thepreliminary round of the third national Bua Liem Vang Press Awards, with oneentering the final round of the national competition.

The third national Bua Liem Vang PressAwards honoured four A prizes, 10 B prizes, 15 C prizes and 25 consolationprizes, which had been selected from more than 1,800 entries.

The award drew the participation of peoplefrom all walks of life, both at home and abroad, showing the increasingattention of the public to the Party’s activities.

Many entries reported on the fight againstdeterioration in political ideology, morality and lifestyle among a portion ofParty members and against corruption and wastefulness.

They also covered the Doi Moi (renewal)cause, the restructuring of the political apparatus and training of officialsof different levels.

Many models of good practice and good Partymembers were also reported.-VNA

Anh, born in 1958, frequently filed complaints and denunciations with authorities at various levels. The contents mainly concerned the land management and use by officials of People’s Committee of Nghia Hiep commune over a long period. Many of the complaints and denunciations were found to be unfounded, lacking evidence, speculative, accusatory, defamatory, and prolonged.

Hanoi waives public transport fares during Tet holiday

During the same period, the Hanoi Traffic Operation Centre, in coordination with bus operators, will also waive fares on subsidised bus services. The programme will apply to 128 subsidised routes citywide over the nine days, with passengers granted tickets according to route pricing but paying no fare.
