Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Public Security’s investigation police have launched proceedings against former Chairman of the southern Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem and five other people for their violations in regulations on the use and management of State assets, causing losses and wastefulness at Binh Duong Production – Export-Import One Member Co.Ltd (Corporation 3/2).
The case is under the watch of the Central Steering Committee on Corruption Prevention and Control, said Lieut. Gen To An Xo, spokesperson and Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, on June 30.
The police on June 30 decided to arrest and raid homes of the provincial Chief Inspector Tran Xuan Lam, Chief of the Office of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Luong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Truc, former Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Van Canh, former Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem, and chief of the finance unit under the Office of the provincial Party Committee Ngo Dung Phuong.
Related to the case, the police on June 1 decided to launch criminal proceedings against General Directors of the Au Lac Real Estate JSC Nguyen Dai Duong and Nguyen Quoc Hung, former Deputy General Director of the Dong Nam Price Consulting and Evaluation JSC Pham Huu Hien, Deputy General Director of the Dong Nam Price Consulting and Evaluation JSC Ho Hoang Nam on the charge of violating regulations on State asset management, causing losses and wastefulness in line with Article 219, the Criminal Code 2015./.
Disciplinary measures against Binh Duong province’s leaders
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired meetings of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee in Hanoi on June 18 to consider disciplinary measures against the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee in the 2015-2020 tenure, the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the provincial People’s Committee in the 2016-2021 tenure and several former leaders of Binh Duong province.
