Proceedings against former Binh Duong leaders launched

The Ministry of Public Security’s investigation police have launched proceedings against former Chairman of the southern Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem and five other people for their violations in regulations on the use and management of State assets, causing losses and wastefulness at Binh Duong Production – Export-Import One Member Co.Ltd (Corporation 3/2).

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Public Security’s investigation police havelaunched proceedings against former Chairman of the southern Binh Duongprovincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem and five other people fortheir violations in regulations on the use and management of State assets,causing losses and wastefulness at Binh Duong Production – Export-Import One MemberCo.Ltd (Corporation 3/2).

The case is under the watch of the Central Steering Committee onCorruption Prevention and Control, said Lieut. Gen To An Xo, spokesperson and Chiefof the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, on June 30.

The  police on June 30 decided to arrest and raid homes of the provincial Chief Inspector Tran Xuan Lam, Chief of the Office of the provincial People’s Committee Vo VanLuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Truc,former Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham VanCanh, former Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Liem, andchief of the finance unit under the Office of the provincial Party CommitteeNgo Dung Phuong.

Relatedto the case, the police on June 1 decided to launch criminal proceedingsagainst General Directors of the Au Lac Real Estate JSC Nguyen Dai Duong andNguyen Quoc Hung, former Deputy General Director of the Dong Nam PriceConsulting and Evaluation JSC Pham Huu Hien, Deputy General Director of theDong Nam Price Consulting and Evaluation JSC Ho Hoang Nam on the charge of violating regulationson State asset management, causing losses and wastefulness in line with Article219, the Criminal Code 2015./.

Phu Quoc launches English classes for vendors, drivers ahead of APEC 2027

Under the project “Enhancing foreign language capacity for the community in the 2026–30 period, with a vision to 2045”, recently announced by the Phu Quoc Special Zone authorities, English programmes will be piloted at 10-15 schools across all three education levels from September 2026 to June 2027.

An Giang takes zero-tolerance approach to IUU fishing

Singer, media executive charged over YouTube music copyright infringement

The Investigation Police Agency under the municipal Public Security Department said on August 5 that it had prosecuted and placed in temporary detention Nguyen Thi Hien, owner of the YouTube channel Phuong Diem Huyen, and Nguyen Thanh Hiep, Director of Unicorn Vietnam Media and Entertainment Co., Ltd., for investigation on the charge of infringing copyright and related rights under Article 225 of Vietnam's Penal Code.

Vietnamese students shine at AIMO 2026 international finals
