Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a programme on the protection and development of ethnic minorities in 2021-2030.
All population officers, health workers, and prestigious people in ethnic minority communities will be provided with knowledge about population - family planning, and reproductive health care by 2030.
The number of child marriages and consanguineous marriage is expected to be reduced by 3-5 percent per year, while more than 50 percent of youths will receive pre-martial advices and health examination for early detection of infectious diseases and HIV.
At least 70 percent of pregnant mothers and newborns will be screened for the five most popular congenital diseases.
Nearly all ethnic minority people will be able to get rid of illiteracy by 2030. Up to 70 percent of workers will receive appropriate training required for the local development./.

A survey on the socio-economic situation of 53 ethnic minority groups of Vietnam will be launched on October 1, announced the General Statistics Office (GSO).
