A special programme entitled “Best of ASEAN” kicked off in Seoul, the Republic of Korea on November 27 to celebrate the upcoming ASEAN-the RoK Commemorative Summit 2014.
The programme, which lasts until December 14, comprises a number of cultural events such as ASEAN Film Festival, Jewels of ASEAN, ASEAN on Wheels and ASEAN-Korea Youth Forum, with the aim of bringing ASEAN a step closer to the hearts of the Korean people, said the ASEAN Secretariat’s press release.
Recognising the timely opportunity to boost mutual understanding and friendship between the two sides’ people, the ASEAN-Korea Centre carefully selected cultural contents to be showcased on “Best of ASEAN” through consultation with the ASEAN Embassies in the RoK and experts in related fields to unveil the diverse aspects of the rich cultures of ASEAN.
Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre Chung Hae-moon said he hopes the event will become a valuable occasion whereby the Korean public can rediscover the charm and splendor of ASEAN as well as understanding better of the bloc’s multifarious cultures.
