Puppetry puts smiles on kids’ faces on Children’s Day

Theatres have been in a state of hibernation since the COVID-19 pandemic first took hold. Children’s Day, however, awakened many theatre stages and the desire of artists to deliver a great performance for young audience members.

The Youth Theatre presented three plays - “Vaxilixa and the Evil Witch”, the musical “Infinity War”, and “Trong Choai di dau the”, for Children’s Day on June 1. Each brought a different feel to the stage and allowed for audience interaction.

The Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre was full to the brim on Children’s Day, with artists having worked tirelessly to bring smiles to young faces.

After a relatively long period of social distancing, artists were eager to deliver stellar performances of old plays as well as new and exciting plays.

Puppetry, circus, and other art forms bring something new to the table and are a staple of Children’s Day. This year they helped entertain young audiences during the COVID-19 pandemic./.
