Quang Nam launches master plan, National Biodiversity Restoration Year

The People’s Committee of Quang Nam held a conference on March 16 to announce this central province’s master plan for the 2021 -2030 period with a vision to 2050, and launch the National Biodiversity Restoration Year 2024.

Quang Nam (VNA) – The People’s Committee of Quang Nam held a conference on March16 to announce this central province’s master plan for the 2021 -2030 periodwith a vision to 2050, and launch the National Biodiversity Restoration Year2024.

Addressingthe event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang stressed that the master planof Quang Nam, approved by the Prime Minister in January, shows a reformedmindset and a new viewpoint, targets, and vision matching the national developmentorientation and the development targets for the north and coastal centralregion. It prioritises promoting a green economy and economic restructuring intandem with growth model reform to secure comprehensive and sustainabledevelopment.

He askedthe province to quickly build a detailed and scientific implementation plan thattakes into account local resources and conditions, adding that it needs to developinfrastructure as well as urban areas and industries, especially tourism,processing, logistics, and seaports to create an inter-connected economic ecosystem.

Chairmanof the provincial People’s Committee Le Chi Thanh said Quang Nam held the conferenceto launch the master plan and the National Biodiversity Restoration Year 2024with a view to demonstrating its strategic target and vision for maximising potentialand advantages while ensuring the harmony between socio-economic developmentand environmental protection so as to take firm steps on the path to become animportant growth powerhouse in the central and Central Highlands regions.

On thisoccasion, the provincial administration also granted 16 investment policyapproval decisions, investment registration certificates, and investmentdestination surveying agreements to businesses which plan to invest over 20trillion VND (846.5 million USD) in total. Most of the planned projects are locatedin the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone./.

Education-training sector preparing for strategic turning point: Minister

Reviewing the sector’s performance in the past five years, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said the scale of the national education system continued to expand across all levels, with more than 24.5 million learners nationwide. Ho Chi Minh City steps up law enforcement on fishing vessel monitoring system

Ho Chi Minh City has 4,449 fishing vessels, of them 4,301 equipped with VMS devices, making up 96.67%. Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, authorities found 1,729 cases of vessels losing VMS connection for six hours or more, issuing fines in 196 cases totalling nearly 6.6 billion VND (about 252,000 USD)
