Quang Ngai: Exhibition on Ly Son’s sea and islands opens

An exhibition entitled "Ly Son - Sea and Island Culture Heritage” opened in Ly Son district of the central province of Quang Ngai on June 29 as part of the first Ly Son Culture - Tourism Week.

QuangNgai (VNA) – An exhibition entitled "Ly Son - Sea and Island CultureHeritage” opened in Ly Son district of the central province of Quang Ngai onJune 29 as part of the first Ly Son Culture - Tourism Week.

Onshowcase are about 80 images and 50 exhibits and documents introducing Ly Son’sgeological characteristics and history, along with locals’ daily life and theiractivities to protect the country’s sea and island sovereignty.

Using thedigital 3D technology, the exhibition also displays maps and documents on Vietnam’sHoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes. The maps anddocuments are seen as historical and legal evidence proving Vietnamesesovereignty over the islands.

ViceChairman of the district People’s Committee Le Van Ninh said the event aims tointroduce Ly Son’s traditional cultural values, festivals and beautifullandscapes to both locals and foreign tourists.

Inaddition, it also proves Vietnam’ssovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes as well as raises public awareness of protecting the national sovereigntyover the islands, he added.
