Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has asked the central province of Quang Ngai to mobilise all efforts to provide food for flood victims to ensure no one goes without food.
Instructing the post-flood response in the province on November 19, the Deputy PM also requested relevant agencies to guide local people to take measures to ensure environmental hygiene to avoid the outbreak of an epidemic.
Through lessons learnt from the recent floods, the province needs to assess the disaster’s impacts in order to rearrange residential areas in a more suitable manner, he said.
He also applauded the province’s performance in information dissemination to local people to avoid floods.
The Deputy PM visited flood victims in Hanh Tin Dong and Hanh Thien communes in Nghia Hanh district, the hardest-hit localities.
According to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Cao Khoa, as of November 19, losses caused by the floods were estimated at 1.73 trillion VND (82.38 million USD). Many transport routes in the province are still blocked due to landslides.
