A work of art depicting highlights of the northern province of Quang Ninh, such as Yen Tu mountain, Ha Long Bay and Mong Cai Border Gate, beat more than 500 entries to win the top prize in a design contest themed Vietnam – Where I Live.
“Vietnam-where I live” is not merely a design competition. It seeks images that can symbolize or create a trademark for Vietnam. The competition received more than 500 entries from across the country. A graphic design, entitled Check-in Quang Ninh, created by 18-year-old Tran Quynh Nhi, was announced as the winner.
Tran Quynh Nhi told reporters: "When I knew about the first edition of the competition, it lured my attention but I hadn’t prepared much. Until this year, I have carefully prepared my artwork and it pays off actually.
She revealed that her inspiration for the artwork was from her hometown Quang Ninh, where she has lived and loved so much.
The design contest Vietnam – Where I Live is organised by Vietnamese Student Magazine in collaboration with the London College for Design and Fashion. The contest was first launched in 2016 and has become a key annual event among art-loving young people.-VNA
