Quang Ninh (VNA) – Police of northern Quang Ninh province on August 9 officially instituted a criminal case and started legal proceedings against two Chinese nationals for robbery.

According to police, Ding Shi Jie, 30, from Hubei province and Ding Ning Shan, 36, from Hunan province of China, illegally entered Vietnam on August 7.

At about 9pm the same day, they entered the office of a petrol station in Hoa Lac ward of Quang Ninh’s Mong Cai city with the intention of stealing things.

When discovered by an employee of the petrol station, the two tied her up with adhesive tape and fled the scene with one smart phone and 210,000 VND (about 9 USD) in cash that they stole from the woman.

Ding Ning Shan was arrested by the filling station’s staff and some local residents, and handed over to the local traffic police. Meanwhile, Ding Shi Jie escaped on a car of the petrol station. He then crashed the vehicle into the group escorting Ding Ning Shan to the police station of Hoa Lac ward to rescue his accessory. After that, the duo drove towards Ha Long city.
