Quang Tri to implement 30 large-scale projects

The central province of Quang Tri will carry out 30 large-scale projects with the total investment of about 100 trillion VND (4.31 billion USD) in 2019.

Quang Tri (VNA) – The central provinceof Quang Tri will carry out 30 large-scale projects with the total investmentof about 100 trillion VND (4.31 billion USD) in 2019.

One of the largest projects is the My Thuy Portin Dong Nam Economic Zone in Hai An commune, Hai Lang district, costing over 14trillion VND. The 685ha port, invested in by My Thuy International Port JointVenture Co., will be home to 10 wharves capable of receiving vessels up to100,000 tonnes.

Chairman of the provincial People’s CommitteeNguyen Duc Chinh said this project is important to local development. Theinvestor is coordinating with partners to arrange capital and complete allnecessary investment procedures so as to kick-start the project in September thisyear.

Another major project is the Quang Tri 1 thermalpower plant, invested in by the Electricity Generating Authority ofThailand. Located in Dong Nam Economic Zone, the project is expected tokick off in June 2019 with total investment of over 55 trillion VND. It isdesigned with a total capacity of 1,320 MW with the first turbine scheduled tobegin operation at the end of 2023.

Big investment was also poured into the fieldsof solar and wind energy, as well as infrastructure building, transport,tourism, and high-tech agriculture. –VNA
