Bru–Van Kieu community in Quang Tri gear up for early voting

According to the provincial Election Committee, three polling stations in Truong Son commune – located in Hoi Ray, Nuoc Dang and Doc May villages – will organise voting on March 8, seven days before the nationwide election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure, to make it easier for residents in remote areas where travel remains difficult to cast their ballots.

Quang Tri hands over rare otter to Cuc Phuong National Park

The People’s Committee of Dakrong commune in the central province of Quang Tri, in coordination with the Dakrong Forest Protection Station, on February 26 handed over a small-clawed otter to the Cuc Phuong National Park and the Wildlife Rescue Centre in Vietnam for further care and rehabilitation.

Quang Tri backs VMS subscription fees for fishing vessels

Under a recently approved provincial resolution, the support will be disbursed once a year. Total funding for the three-year programme is estimated at more than 12.2 billion VND from the provincial budget, benefiting around 1,360 vessels across the province.

NA Vice Chairman inspects election preparations in Quang Tri

Quang Tri: Housing campaign brings hope for landslide-affected communities

The project was inaugurated on December 31, 2025. Over 18 days of construction, teams moved more than 30,000 cu.m of soil, sand, stone, and gravel; installed 200 anti-landslide gabions; built 130 m of drainage channels; planted 2,000 sq.m slope grass; and assisted residents with repairs, moving belongings, and clearing their homes to quickly restore livelihoods.

With more than 191 km of coastline and over 8,000 fishing vessels, Quang Tri province is strengthening measures to work closely with fishermen and fishing grounds to prevent all IUU (illegal, unreported and unregulated) fishing violations and move towards sustainable marine resource exploitation.

Ireland supports bomb victims, PwDs in Quang Tri

The project is managed and implemented by the RENEW Centre for rehabilitation and assistance for PwDs and will run until July 31, 2026 across all communes and wards, including border areas, in the central province, which is heavily contaminated with landmines and other ERWs.

Quang Tri targets sustainable fisheries sector

Authorities are simultaneously guiding vessel owners to monitor permit validity, safety certifications and food safety approvals to avoid slipping into non-compliant status. The Department of Agriculture and Environment has been urged to expedite paperwork to ensure qualified vessels can access fishing grounds legally.

Quang Tri tightens control to prevent fishing‑rule violations

To contribute to the country’s efforts to have the EC’s yellow card removed, Quang Tri has been intensifying measures to prevent IUU fishing. Local forces have strengthened coordination to strictly control vessel movements, catch declarations and regulation compliance, while enhancing communication to ensure fishers operate lawfully.
