Reburial service held for soldier remains repatriated from Laos

Authorities of the northern province of Dien Bien on January 3 held a memorial service and re-buried 15 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down their lives in Laos during wartime.
Dien Bien(VNA) – Authorities of the northern province of Dien Bien on January 3 held amemorial service and re-buried 15 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldierswho laid down their lives in Laos during wartime.

Attending the ceremonywere representatives from the National Steering Committee on Search andRepatriation of Remains of Fallen Soldiers (Steering Committee 515), MilitaryZone 2 along with the Special Working Committees of Laos and six northern Laoprovinces.

Speaking at theceremony, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien People’s Committee Le Van Quy affirmedthat the soldiers sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary causes of thetwo nations and the Vietnam-Laos special friendship.

Leaders of theprovince also thanked the authorities and people of Laos’ northern provincesfor creating favourable conditions for the search and repatriation of fallensoldiers’ remains,

Afterwards, a ceremonyto rebury the remains was held at Tong Khao Martyr Cemetery in the province’sDien Bien district.

This was the firstrepatriation conducted during the 2019-2020 dry season by the SteeringCommittee 515 and the Special Working Committee of six northern provinces ofLaos./.

Vietnam Railways adds trains for upcoming holidays

Binh Thuan ramps up measures to combat IUU fishing

According to the Binh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province has completed registration for all “three-no” fishing boats - vessels without registration, licences or monitoring systems - measuring six metres or more. About 2,710 such vessels have been registered, meeting 100% of the ministry’s requirements and 2,012 operational vessels have been fitted with VMS devices.
