Reference exchange rate adjusted up on March 9

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 22,456 VND/USD on March 9, up 13 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 22,456 VND/USD on March 9, up 13 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,129 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,785 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at major commercial banks mostly stay unchanged from March 8.

Both Vietcombank and BIDV maintained the buying rate at 22,720 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,790 VND/USD.

The rates at Vietinbank also remained the same as on March 8, at 22,676 VND/USD (buying) and 22,746 VND/USD (selling).

The daily reference exchange rate had been on the declining trend since the start of the week (March 5) before turning round to increase on Friday. -VNA
