Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,101 VND per USD on June 11, down 3 VND from the previous day.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial bank during the day is 23,794 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,407 VND/USD.
The rates listed at commercial banks also dropped.
At 8:30 am, the rates at Vietcombank stood at 22,810 VND/USD (buying) and 23,040 VND/USD (selling), both down 20 VND from June 10.
BIDV reduced both rates by 15 VND to 22,845 (buying) and 23,045 VND/USD (selling).
During the week from May 31 to June 4, the daily reference exchange rate was adjusted up on Monday but then around to follow a downward trend until the end of the week. It ended the week down 39 VND compared to the rate on Monday./.
Central bank to keep proactive, flexible monetary policy
For the time ahead, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) will keep a proactive and flexible monetary policy basing on market developments and forecasts for the macro-economy, SBV Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu told a meeting on April 22.
