Reference exchange rate down further on November 16

The daily reference exchange rate was adjusted down for the third consecutive day on November 16, standing at 22,721 VND per USD, decreasing 2 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The daily reference exchange rate was adjusted down for the third consecutive day on November 16, standing at 22,721 VND per USD, decreasing 2 VND from the previous day.

 With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,402 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,040 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw slight changes from November 15.

 Vietcombank added 5 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,265 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,355 VND/USD.

Both the rates at Techcombank were also raised by 5 VND to 23,245 VND/USD (buying) and 23,355 VND/USD (selling).

Meanwhile, BIDV reduced both rates by 5 VND to 23,265 VND/USD (buying) and 23,355 VND/USD (selling).

The reference exchange rate went up on the first two days of this week (November 12-16) but the trend reversed on Wednesday. It opened the week at 22,725 VND/USD but ended at 22,721 VND per USD.

The rates listed at commercial banks fluctuated throughout the week, but overall ending the week higher than on Monday.-VNA
