Reference exchange rate goes down

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,180 VND per USD on July 30, down 32 VND from the previous week.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily referenceexchange rate at 23,180 VND per USD on July 30, down 32 VND from the previousweek.

With thecurrent trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercialbanks during the day is 23,876 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,484 VND/USD.

The rateslisted at major commercial banks saw decreases.

At 8:30 am,Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 22,820 VND/USD and the selling rate at23,050 VND/USD, both down 20 VND from July 29.

BIDV also cutboth rates by 15 VND, listing the buying rate at 22,860 VND/USD and the sellingrate at 23,060 VND/USD./.
