Reference exchange rate rises at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,272 VND/USD on December 16, up 8 VND from the last working day of the previous week.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,272 VND/USD on December 16, up 8 VND from the last working day of the previous week.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,486 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,058 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates also saw increases.

At 8:37 am, both Vietcombank and BIDV listed the buying rate at 25,185 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,485 VND/USD, both up 8 VND from December 13./.
