Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) raised the daily reference exchange rate by another 15 VND to 22,640 VND/USD on June 27.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,318 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,964 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks continued to rise strongly for the second consecutive day.
The rates at Vietcombank surged 40 VND to 22,905 VND/USD (buying) and 22,975 VND/USD (selling).
BIDV added 45 VND to both rates, listing the buying rate at 22,915 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,985 VND/USD.
Techcombank increased both rates by 25 VND, listing the buying rate at 22,870 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,970 VND/USD.
Both the daily reference exchange rate and listed VND/USD rates at banks have been on a rising trend since last week.
The SBV said it will manage the reference rate flexibly in conformity with developments of the market, and will also scale up foreign reserves when necessary.-VNA
