Welcoming Chairman Man’s trip to Malaysia, Ali Basah said the visit marks an important milestone in the bilateral relations, effectively implementing the comprehensive strategic partnership and demonstrating Vietnam’s commitment, together with the parliaments of ASEAN countries, to building a “sustainable and inclusive” united, resilient ASEAN Community, which will continue to play a central role in the regional architecture.

HCM City treasures close, effective cooperation with Malaysia: official

More than half a century since the diplomatic relationship was set up, ties between Vietnam and Malaysia have flourished across multiple fields, reaching a new height in 2024 with the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, said Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Loc Ha.

Vietnam, Malaysia convene third Senior Officials’ Strategic Dialogue

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and discussed orientations for implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in line with high-level agreements. They noted with satisfaction that under the Action Programme for 2021–2025, and particularly after the recent upgrade in ties, cooperation has deepened and become more effective across multiple fields, including politics, economy–trade–investment, defence–security, labour, culture, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Vietnamese, Malaysian PMs talk regional issues, bilateral ties by phone

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hailed the efforts by PM Anwar Ibrahim as well as Malaysia, the ASEAN Chair this year, in promoting the settlement of the Cambodia-Thailand border tensions, particularly in organising the July 28 meeting between the Cambodian Prime Minister and the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand, which led to a ceasefire agreement, the first positive step towards controlling the escalation of conflict between the two countries.

Vietnamese, Malaysian PMs have meeting on BRICS summit sidelines

Vietnam and Malaysia will enhance partnerships in agriculture, fisheries, food security, energy, oil and gas, and power transmission among ASEAN countries. Cooperation will also be expanded to the fields of digital economy, circular economy, and green economy.
