Representatives from Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Tay Ninh chapter have praised the contributions of religious people and ethnic groups in the provincial socio-economic development process.
The appraisal was made at a meeting between Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s Tay Ninh chapter and 100 religious dignitaries and old-aged head of villages in the province on the occasion of upcoming Lunar New Year on January 14.
During 2013, local religious organisations and ethnic groups actively participated in social activities, mobilising 76 billion VND (3.5 million USD) for disadvantaged people in the province.
Tay Ninh local authorities also noted that it had helped improve both material and spiritual lives of its residents by offering free health insurance, allocating cultivated land for people and sending ethnic children to boarding schools in the province in 2013.-VNA
