Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam has received petitions from Hung Nghiep Formosa Ltd Company and Youl Chon Vina Plastic JSC which request an anti-dumping investigation on Biaxial Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film originating from China, Thailand and Malaysia.
On June 12, the two companies submitted enough documents.
Later on June 26, investigation agency confirmed that the documents are in accordance with trade protection law.
Within the next 45 days, it will review the documents to submit to the Minister of Industry and Trade to decide whether to launch an investigation or not.
The authority said it will seek evidence for the dumping of imported goods that causes considerable harm to the domestic production.
In order to ensure legitimate rights and interests of firms, the investigation agency asked domestic manufacturers to provide their information, the capacity and output of their BOPP film during 2016, 2017 and 2018.
They must offer opinions about the case and provide relevant evidence before July 26.-VNA
