Hanoi (VNA) - A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Phuc Yen College of Industry and the Flamingo Group with the aim of enhancing the quality of human resources in the tourism industry.
The signing ceremony took place in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on December 9.
Accordingly, the students will learn hospitality and tourism theory at the college and gain practical experience at resorts and restaurants owned by the Flamingo Group.
Nguyen Tien Tung, principal of the college, said the work force of the national tourism industry still lacks professional skills and foreign language-speaking ability.
“The co-operation between our college and the Flamingo Group will help improve the quality of training, equip the students with specialised knowledge and give them the chance to practice in a professional working environment.”
Pham Ngo Thuy Ninh, vice chief of the Training Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, highly appreciated the co-operation between the college and the enterprise.
“Due to the rapid development of the tourism industry, it’s necessary to increase the quantity and quality of human resources,” she said.
“There are 35 universities and colleges under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. They also collaborate with enterprises to give students the chance to practice. However, this is the first time an enterprise co-operates tightly with a college in developing textbooks, selecting lecturers and organising field trips for students.”-VNA
