Vietnam has made important contributions in the capacity of ASEAN Chair to helping the Republic of Korea boost its ties with other Southeast Asian countries, a senior RoK government official has said.
RoK Deputy Minister of Knowledge Economy Park Young June highlighted Vietnam ’s contributions during his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai in Hanoi on December 20.
The RoK deputy minister is on a working visit to explore opportunities for expanding investment in Vietnam .
He said he was impressed with the past cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK in a wide range of areas.
Referring to the prospect of bilateral cooperation to develop supporting industries in Vietnam , Park said many major RoK groups would invest in the field.
He expressed hopes that the two governments will provide businesspeople with conditions to facilitate their exploration and promotion of investment opportunities in energy, mining, and the construction of transport facilities, which have high potential for investors.
Deputy PM Hai praised the results of the RoK delegation’s working sessions with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the oil and gas group, the coal and mineral industry group of Vietnam and a series of new cooperation agreements reached at the recent Vietnam-RoK business forum.
He said these results are the assertion of what RoK businesspeople will do to continue the successes of current RoK-Vietnam cooperation projects./.
