The Republic of Korea (RoK) this year will receive over 5,000 Vietnamese guest workers who had returned home as scheduled, said a Vietnamese official in Hanoi on January 31.
Phan Van Minh, Director of the Vietnamese Overseas Labour Centre under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said his centre and the RoK’s Human Resource Development Service will hold a computer-based Korean language test in early March for those who wish to apply for jobs again.
Last year, 2,600 Vietnamese workers who left the RoK on time took Korean language tests and more than 500 workers of those who passed returned to the RoK.
In the first quarter of this year, the Vietnamese Overseas Labour Centre and the Overseas Labour Management Department will hold conferences in 15 cities and provinces with a high number of workers living illegally in the RoK in a move to call on them to come back.-VNA
