Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai received a delegation from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, headed by Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb, in the city on March 9.
The host thanked the Mayor and Rotterdam authorities for their help in studying and implementing solutions for climate change, as well as in fields of economics, trade, investment, tourism and education over the past time.
The city official noted HCM City is facing challenges caused by climate change, therefore it wishes to intensify collaboration with Rotterdam in the fields and boost links with other cities of the Netherlands in climate change-related fields.
For his part, the Mayor highlighted the development of relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands as well as the two cities.
He stressed the significance of the two cities’ continued cooperation in the fields of mutual concern, particularly climate change adaptation, affirming the Netherlands’ willingness to share experience and help HCM City as well as Vietnam in the area.
During the reception, the two leaders compared notes on issues relating to climate change, seaport development and infrastructure construction.-VNA
