Russia lifts import ban on seven Vietnamese aquatic businesses

Russia’s Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Service (VPSS) has lifted a temporary import ban on frozen shrimp and Tra fish products of seven Vietnamese businesses.
Russia’s Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Service (VPSS) has lifted a temporary import ban on frozen shrimp and Tra fish products of seven Vietnamese businesses.

According to the National Agro-Forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance Department (NAFIQAD) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the seven enterprises are Hung Vuong-Vinh Long Co., Ltd, Hung Vuong JSC, Ba Lai Seafood Processing Factory, Hiep Thanh Seafood Processing JSC, Hung Ca Co., Ltd, Minh Phu Seafood JSC and Minh Quy Seafood Processing Co., Ltd.

NAFIQAD has asked the enterprises to strictly abide by regulations on food safety of Vietnam, Russia and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan in processing and exporting aquatic products to these markets.

The above-mentioned firms have also been advised to keep close contact with importers to know thoroughly about rules relating to contract and products, so as to avoid meeting difficulties when exporting their goods to the markets.

NAFIQAD said 602 Vietnamese enterprises have been recognised as meeting food hygiene criteria for export to Europe but Russia accepts only 34 firms.-VNA
