Samsung offers hi-tech training to over 6,000 Vietnamese students

In an effort to develop hi-tech skills for the young Vietnamese generation, Samsung Vietnam has relentlessly made efforts to hold training courses for more than 6,000 students over the past five years.

Hanoi (VNA) – In an effort to develop hi-tech skills for the young Vietnamese generation, Samsung Vietnam has relentlessly made efforts to hold training courses for more than 6,000 students over the past five years.

During the period, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) project has provided courses in areas such as Coding & Programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) for 6,021 Vietnamese young people and nearly 389 teachers. The project has expanded to around 40 schools and 20 cities and provinces nationwide, heard an event held on August 18 to review the SIC programme for 2022-2023.

Developing hi-tech capability for young generation

The Samsung Innovation Campus 2022-2023 was officially launched on September 21, 2022, with the aim of developing hi-tech capability for the young Vietnamese generation aged 14-24 who will lead the success of the Industry 4.0 revolution in the future.

The project has been deployed in 12 cities and provinces nationwide, involving 33 schools at different educational levels, from secondary to high schools, colleges and universities, bringing opportunities to more than 3,200 students.

Specifically, over 2,400 students attended the basic coding & programming course while over 200 studied the IoT, more than 300 in AI course, and 50 were trained in Big Data.

The project has also launched training courses for over 200 teachers, which were designed by leading experts from the Samsung Group, research institutions and major universities nationwide.

Creating a helpful playground

This year, Samsung Vietnam marked five years of its efforts to equip Vietnamese students with technological knowledge by holding a Robocon competition for all students in the Samsung Innovation Campus 2022-2023 project. The competition looked to enable students to showcase knowledge and skills they have gained from the project, as well as to interact with their fellows who share the same passion from across the country.

As a result, AD2 WIN team from An Duong High School in Hai Phong city and Warriots team from Duy Tan University in Da Nang city became winners.

President of Samsung Vietnam Choi Joo Ho said motivating students to become tech-savvy is indeed the purpose that the project looks to so that they can make a real impact in Vietnam.

The Samsung Innovation Campus officially debuted globally in 2019. It is one of Samsung's prominent corporate social responsibility projects and has expanded to 33 countries worldwide, including the US, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, among others.

With the vision "Together for Tomorrow – Enabling People”, Samsung has been embarking on various projects to nurture technological talents in Vietnam. This includes the Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) competition, an educational STEM platform at S.hub Kids in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, and the Samsung Lab classroom funding. These efforts provide students at universities with access to modern information technology knowledge, and awarding Samsung talent scholarships along with internship opportunities at Samsung Vietnam's Mobile R&D Centre./.
