Samsung Hope School gives wings to dreams of young people

Samsung Vietnam and Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) on July 20 jointly held the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Samsung Bac Ninh Hope School (Vietnam Korea Cooperation Centre).

Bac Ninh (VNS/VNA) - Samsung Vietnam and Korea Food forthe Hungry International (KFHI) on July 20 jointly held the 10th anniversary ofthe establishment of Samsung Bac Ninh Hope School (Vietnam Korea CooperationCentre).

The Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Centre is also known as the SamsungHope School Bac Ninh. This is the first school in the chain of Samsung HopeSchool projects - one of the key social responsibility projects with themission of spreading knowledge, sharing visions and creating the future forevery Vietnamese youth.

The school was inaugurated and put into operation in 2013 in Lac Vecommune, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province, with the desire to assiststudents living around Samsung's factory. The school was built with modernequipment, a synchronous system as well as after-school extracurricular coursessuch as IT, fine arts, foreign languages and soft skills to help students havea solid foundation to nurture their dreams.

After 10 years of operation, Samsung Bac Ninh Hope School hasgiven more than 2,000 individuals in Bac Ninh a chance to live and learn in ahealthy, dynamic environment where they can explore their own dreams, developcomprehensively and bring positive contributions to the educational developmentin Bac Ninh province. A total of 62 students have graduated from this school sofar. Thanks to the knowledge acquired from here, their chances to get intouniversities have also increased.

Speaking at the event, Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee, said: “On behalf of the provincial People'sCommittee, I acknowledge and praise the great contributions of Samsung VietnamComplex, which have directed Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co Ltd to coordinatewith KFHI to aid and build "Vietnam - Korea Cooperation Centre", notonly building but also accompanying the organisation to maintain the centre'sfacilities. The company not only excels in production and business but alsotakes the lead in community support activities, deserving to be a comprehensiveexample for other FDI companies in the province to follow.”

Choi Joo Ho, President of Samsung VietnamComplex, said: “Our future depends a lot on the young generations. Andsupporting young people to pursue their dreams is the mission for all of us.President Ho Chi Minh once said: "For the sake of ten years, we mustplant trees, for the sake of 100 years, we must cultivate people." Ibelieve that this is a reminder for us about the importance of investing inpeople; it is the best investment that creates great and lasting results. Ithas been 10 years since the establishment and operation of Samsung Bac NinhHope School. However, it can be said that these are merely the first steps inthat 100-year journey. Samsung will continue to effectively operate the SamsungHope School and constantly support the development of the youth - the futureowners of the country.”/.

Education-training sector preparing for strategic turning point: Minister

Reviewing the sector’s performance in the past five years, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said the scale of the national education system continued to expand across all levels, with more than 24.5 million learners nationwide. Major goals on universal education and literacy were basically achieved, while the proportion of trained workers holding diplomas or certificates reached nearly 30%.

Ho Chi Minh City steps up law enforcement on fishing vessel monitoring system

Ho Chi Minh City has 4,449 fishing vessels, of them 4,301 equipped with VMS devices, making up 96.67%. Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, authorities found 1,729 cases of vessels losing VMS connection for six hours or more, issuing fines in 196 cases totalling nearly 6.6 billion VND (about 252,000 USD)

Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel pays courtesy visit to Da Nang
