Vietnam is deeply concerned over the ongoing Scarborough Shoal dispute between the Philippines and China , said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi in response to media queries on Apr. 25.
“We think that the concerned parties need to practise restraint and peacefully resolve the disputes based on international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea in 1982 and the Declaration on the Conduct of the Parties in the East Sea (DOC), to maintain peace, stability, security and maritime safety in the East Sea and region,” Nghi said./.
