As many as 200 disadvantaged students with good study results from secondary and high schools in the Central Highlands of Dak Nong were presented with scholarships during a ceremony in the locality on June 26.
The scholarships were delivered under a programme run by the Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper, with the aim to help local poor students keep their study uninterruptedly.
This is the second time Dak Nong students have been awarded scholarships from the programme.
The programme was established in 2008 after students in the central provinces of Quang Ngai and Nghe An and some Mekong Delta localities gave up their studies en mass due to their family’s scanty economic conditions.-VNA
