To preserve the traditional culture of ethnic minority people, many schools in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum have invited artisans to teach gong playing and xoang dances to their pupils. It’s an effective way to promote precious values in cultural characteristics of ethnic people.

This is a folk dance performed by pupils of Dang Tran Con elementary school.

Thanks to the guidance of the school’s teachers and artisans in the locality, many pupils can perform their traditional dances beautifully.

Since 2013 the school has invited artisans to teach pupils how to play gong and folk dances after classes.

Besides gong playing and xoang singing, the school has also promoted traditional culture among pupils.

With all pupils being the Ba Na ethnic group, the introduction of culture and familiar activities not only helps the school improve educational quality but also contributes to preserving the traditions of ethnic minority people in the area.-VNA
