The Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) has presented insignias to six Vietnamese scientists in recognition of their contribution to modernising and developing nuclear research in Vietnam.
The presentation ceremony took place within the framework of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship meeting held in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong on March 18.
The awards went to Prof. Pham Duy Hien (former Vice President of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission), Prof. Nguyen Van Dat (former Director of the Centre for Nuclear Technology in Ho Chi Minh City), Dr. Tran Ha Anh ( former Director of the Da Lat Nuclear Research Institute), and three former DNRI deputy directors.
On the occasion, the Ministry of Science and Technology also presented insignias “For the Cause of Science and Technology” to 13 Russian senior specialists who have helped Vietnam restore and expand the Da Lat nuclear reactor.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Le Dinh Tien highlighted Russia’s support to Vietnam’s atomic energy industry and its continuous assistance in implementing a project on building a new nuclear reactor and a nuclear science and technology centre in the near future.-VNA
