Kuala Lumpur, (VNA) – Fencer Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa defeated her Philippine rival 15-10 on August 22 to win the 10th gold medal for Vietnam.
This is the second gold for Vietnam on August 22, with the first earned by gymnast Dang Nam in the rings event.
In the afternoon of August 22, Wushu bagged another silver, as Tran Xuan Hiep came second in Changquan with 9.67 points, only 0.01 points behind the gold medallist - Singapore’s Jowen Si Wei.
The country also claimed a bronze in karate, with Khanh Vy beating Laos’ Kunhazaitavong in under-50kg women’ kumite.-VNA
