The on-going ninth meeting of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee continued its second day of sitting in Hanoi on May 9.
During the morning session, presided over by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, who is also a Politburo member, the Committee reviewed the implementation of the Resolution of its 5 th meeting on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
In the afternoon, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Le Hong Anh read the Politburo’s report on the evaluation of the collection of votes for members at Party committees and those in Party and State agencies, the Fatherland Front and political and social organisations.
Meanwhile, Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc gave a speech, focusing on the implementation of a pilot model removing People’s Councils at district and communal levels.-VNA
