Hanoi (VNA) – “Stimulating tourism demand – Experiencing safe, attractive Vietnam” was theme of a conference co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism’s Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and newswire VnExpress in Hanoi on September 24.
Speaking at the event, VNAT Deputy Director General Ha Van Sieu said the first domestic tourism demand stimulation programme launched by the ministry in May has brought about positive results. During May-July, domestic tourism bounced back at impressive speed. But in late July when the pandemic erupted again, tourism activities were suspended.
According to him, the second programme must put safety above others, including following pandemic prevention and control measures. He also suggested localities offer new and attractive tours at preferential prices on the back of alliance among service providers.
As Vietnam resumed several international flights from September 15, the programme should also gear towards foreign visitors, he said.
In the near future, the VNAT will launch tourism promotion activities in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, and others./.
