Practical exploitation and utilisation of sea and island advantages for the sustainable socio-economic development of central Quang Ngai province and the whole central region have been assessed at a two-day scientific seminar in Quang Ngai province.
Addressing the seminar that concluded on May 11, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Nguyen Xuan Thang said this was a successful seminar on the theme, jointly organised by his academy and Quang Ngai with the participation of almost 100 scientists and researchers.
The seminar heard 19 reports in which concrete solutions and orientations were made to the theme.
The participants proposed raising people’s awareness of the strategic role of sea and islands in the central region.
However, they said, central coastal provincial authorities lack the coordination and connectivity to jointly develop their sea and island advantages.
On the occasion of the seminar, the Quang Ngai Culture, Sports and Tourism Department exhibited a number of photos on Hoang Sa- Truong Sa (Paracel-Spratly) archipelagoes and Quang Ngai sea and islands./.
