A joint investigation team of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has nabbed 26 people over scam crimes involving sexual exploitation in Phnom Penh, Cambodia through cooperation with the local authorities, Yonhap News agency has reported.

Cambodia clamped down on 104 human trafficking and sexual exploitation cases in the first half of 2024, the country’s National Committee for Counter Trafficking (NCCT) reported.

Cambodia and Thailand have signed an agreement on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on law enforcement cooperation against human trafficking, according to a statement from Cambodia's National Committee for Counter Trafficking (NCCT) on August 29.
