Ship equipment factory inaugurated in southern province

Norwegian technical group ODIM inaugurated a 20-million USD ship equipment factory in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Oct. 26.

Once operational, the factory will provide package handling solutions in the maritime sector and drilling wells for the oil and gas sector.

A factory leader said that the facility will manufacture marine equipment and ship it to the parent company before becoming an independent business unit in the second quarter of 2010.

The factory has attracted 100 skilled Vietnamese workers and plans to recruit another 150 in the coming time.

ODIM is a global technical group that covers three areas of production, including marine equipment, offshore specialised vessels and energy./.
