Singapore will host the 14th ASEAN Telecommunications and Information Technology Senior Officials Meeting (TELSOM) and the 13th ASEAN Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministers Meeting (TELMIN) from November 11-15.
This event is jointly organised by the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) and the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore, says IDA website. The TELS OM/TELMIN is ASE AN’s annual forum to discuss and enhance regional cooperation on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) matters.
According to the tentative programme, TELSOM plenary will be held on Nov. 12. ASEAN telecommunications and information technology senior officials will meet with counterparts from China , Japan, the Republic of Korea, and India as well as the European Union (EU) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on separate occasions on Nov. 13.
The two-day 13th TELMIN will begin on Nov. 14 under the theme “Connecting Communities, Co-Creating Possibilities”. In conjunction with the meeting, the ASEAN ICT Awards 2013 ceremony will be held the same day.
TELMIN plus ITU, TELMIN plus China, TELMIN plus Japan, TELMIN plus the Republic of Korea , and TELMIN plus India will be held on Nov. 15, separately. The same day will witness the signing ceremony of ASEAN-China Minutes of Understanding on bilateral cooperation.-VNA
